Alkem laboratories to contest INR 18 crore GST demand

Alkem Laboratories Limited announced on November 18, 2025, that it has received an order from the assistant commissioner, Central GST and Central Excise, Vadodara-II Commissionerate. The order demands GST of INR 1,80,87,074, along with a penalty of INR 1,80,87,074, and applicable interest under the CGST/SGST/IGST Act, 2017. This demand pertains to the financial period from 2018-2019 to 2024-2025.

The demand order primarily alleges an excess availment and utilization of ineligible Input Tax Credit. Alkem Laboratories explicitly stated that it does not agree with the demand and plans to contest the order, including filing an appeal.

Despite the significant demand, the company confirmed that there is no material impact on its financial, operational, or other activities. The disclosure was made in compliance with Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
