TVS Motor company launches Apache RTR 180 in Kenya

TVS Motor Company launched its TVS Apache RTR 180 in Kenya on November 17, 2025. This marks a strategic expansion in East Africa, in partnership with its long-standing distributor, Car & General. The TVS Apache RTR 180 is powered by a 177.4cc high-performance engine, delivering 15.22 PS at 8,500 RPM and 14.1 Nm of torque at 6,500 RPM. The motorcycle is priced at KES 269,990 and will be available across 12 Car & General dealerships in Pearl White, Matte Blue, Gloss Black, and Matte Grey.

The launch underscores TVS Motor Company's focus on international growth and delivering race-proven engineering to new markets. The company's R&D investments have significantly increased, reaching an all-time high of ₹1,025 crore in fiscal year 2024-25, up from ₹495 crore in fiscal year 2022-23. This investment supports its commitment to innovative, sustainable, and technologically advanced mobility solutions for global markets, especially as TVS Motor celebrates 20 years of the Apache series.

Peyman Kargar, president - international business, TVS Motor Company, highlighted Kenya's importance as a regional commercial hub. Vijay Gidoomal, chief executive officer of Car & General, noted the Apache RTR 180’s suitability for dynamic daily rides, enhancing the premium motorcycle segment in Kenya.
