Tata Power commissions 300 MW solar project in Bikaner

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, announced the commissioning of its 300 MW DCR-compliant solar power project for NHPC Limited in Karnisar Bhatiyan, Bikaner, Rajasthan. This project, completed over two and a half years, utilized advanced DCR cells and bifacial modules, with approximately 775,000 modules installed across challenging desert terrain.

The project is expected to offset around 13,826,400 tons of CO2 annually over its lifetime and will supply clean power to Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), generating approximately 17,230 million units of green electricity throughout its operational period. TPREL’s total renewable utility capacity has reached 11.6 GW, with 5.8 GW currently operational and another 5.8 GW under various stages of implementation.

This initiative employed over 300 local workers, fostered local vendor development, and contributed to the regional economy. The company also confirmed its commitment to domestic manufacturing, with high-efficiency solar modules produced by TP Solar Limited, Tirunelveli.
