Archean Chemical reports strong H1 FY26, expands into semiconductors and energy storage

Archean Chemical Industries Limited reported a 10% increase in total revenue to Rs 5,232.3 million for the first half of FY26 (H1 FY26) on a standalone basis, with exports contributing nearly 79% of the total operating revenue. The company’s standalone profit after tax for H1 FY26 reached Rs 903.1 million, up from Rs 703.3 million in H1 FY25, while basic EPS rose to Rs 7.32 from Rs 5.70. On a consolidated basis, total income was Rs 5,401.5 million, with profit after tax at Rs 691.8 million for H1 FY26.

Key strategic investments include the acquisition of Idealis Chemicals (Oren Hydrocarbon) in July 2024, with three of five units nearing commercial operation. Archean Chemical also made a primary subscription of £10 million and a secondary purchase of £5 million in Clas-Sic Wafer Fab Limited, securing exclusive access to advanced SiC technology in India. Furthermore, SiCSem Private Limited received approval from the India Semiconductor Mission to establish a Silicon Carbide (SiC) based Compound Semiconductor fab in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, expected to be operational in November 2025.

The company also secured an 18.14% stake in Offgrid Energy Labs in May 2025, aligning with its strategy to leverage bromine derivatives for energy storage. This investment supports the establishment of a pilot manufacturing facility in the UK and a future giga-factory in India for Zinc Bromide battery production. This diversification strategy positions Archean Chemical for future growth in specialty marine chemicals, silicon carbide power devices, and energy storage solutions.
