Apollo Micro Systems completes IDL Explosives acquisition, bolsters defence presence

Apollo Micro Systems Limited announced on November 17, 2025, the completion of the acquisition of IDL Explosives Limited by its subsidiary, Apollo Defence Industries Private Limited. This follows an earlier intimation dated May 2, 2025, regarding the proposed transaction. The acquisition involved the transfer of shares from GOCL Corporation Limited, making IDL Explosives Limited a step-down subsidiary of Apollo Micro Systems.

The acquisition is a strategic move to bolster Apollo Group's footprint in the defence sector, specifically by integrating IDL Explosives' capabilities in high-end defence-grade explosives, propellants, and warhead systems. This consolidation is expected to commence from Q3 FY2026 and aligns with India's "Atmanirbhar" (self-reliant) defence initiative.

Baddam Karunakar Reddy, managing director of Apollo Micro Systems Limited, stated his commitment to upholding IDL's legacy and value. This corporate action transforms Apollo Micro Systems into a fully integrated multidisciplinary defence platform provider, expanding its offerings from weapon system electronics to complete weapon system complexes.
