Cyient foundation launches AI & future skills center in Nagaland

Cyient Foundation, the CSR arm of Cyient, announced the establishment of an AI & Future Skills Center of Excellence (CoE) at the Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre (NTTC) in Dimapur on November 15, 2025. This initiative, supported by SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation, aims to accelerate AI-driven skilling and employability in the North-East by providing local youth with future-ready digital and technological skills. The CoE was inaugurated by Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, honorable union minister of finance and corporate affairs, and Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, founder chairman of Cyient Limited.

Cyient Foundation conceptualized and executed the project as the program management and implementation partner. The CoE will offer AI-integrated skilling programs in domains such as handloom & handicraft, AI, software coding, and robotics, targeting employability gaps and promoting entrepreneurship. The SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation provided funding for infrastructure, AI simulation labs, and digital classrooms at NTTC.

The CoE is projected to train 200-240 youth annually, with 75% expected to find employment or become self-employed within three months of course completion. This initiative aligns with national missions like Digital India, Skill India, and Viksit Bharat 2047, bolstering India's efforts to equip its workforce with advanced technology capabilities and foster regional economic resilience.
