Motherson diversifies into solar, reports solid Q2 FY26 results

Samvardhana Motherson International Limited (SAMIL) announced the acquisition of Onega Solar Power Limited (OSPL-SPV) through its wholly-owned subsidiary Motherson New Energy Limited (MNEL). OSPL-SPV, a special purpose vehicle, is developing a 15 MWp Group Captive Solar Project in Uttar Pradesh. The acquisition, for a cash consideration of ₹13.19 million, supports Motherson's sustainability goals and renewable energy needs.

Concurrently, SAMIL reported an 8.5% YoY increase in revenue from operations to ₹30,173 crores for Q2 FY26, with PAT (Concern Share) rising 15% to ₹856 crores. Consolidated EBITDA for the quarter grew 9.0% to ₹2,719 crores. The company maintained a stable Net Leverage Ratio of 1.1x and announced three other acquisitions: Yutaka Giken (Japan), Rubbertec (Australia), and Rider Dome (Singapore), further strengthening its market position and technological capabilities.
