This includes the government of India's share of ₹988.88 crore, marking the highest-ever dividend paid by the company. The dividend cheque for ₹988.88 crore was handed over to G. Kishan Reddy, union minister of coal and mines, by Brijendra Pratap Singh, CMD, NALCO, in New Delhi.
Since commencing commercial operations in 1987, NALCO has consistently generated profits and declared dividends since 1992, with cumulative dividends totaling ₹14,331 crore. Of this, ₹9,556 crore has been remitted to the government of India, which currently holds a 51.28% equity stake in NALCO.
The company's strong performance continued into the first half of the current financial year, achieving its best-ever quarterly and half-yearly results in Q2 FY 2025-26. As a result, NALCO has declared an interim dividend of ₹4 per equity share for FY 2025-26, amounting to ₹734.65 crore.
