Adani Cement deploys RotoDynamic Heater for decarbonization

Adani Cement announced on November 12, 2025, a partnership with Coolbrook to deploy the world's first commercial RotoDynamic Heater (RDH) at its Boyareddypalli Integrated Cement Plant in Andhra Pradesh, India. This pioneering move aims to advance cement decarbonization and represents the first industrial-scale deployment of Coolbrook's RDH technology. The system will be powered entirely by Adani Cement's renewable energy portfolio, ensuring carbon emission-free industrial heat.

This deployment is projected to directly reduce approximately 60,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, with potential for a 10x increase in due course. The RDH technology will decarbonize the calcination phase, providing clean heat to enhance the heating value of alternative fuels. The company also aims to increase alternative fuels and resource materials (AFR) usage to 30% and boost green power share to 60% by FY28.

Adani Cement and Coolbrook have identified multiple follow-on opportunities for deploying RotoDynamic Technology across Adani Cement's industrial operations, with an ambition to launch at least five additional projects within the next two years. The first generation RDH will deliver hot gases at around 1000°C, facilitating the greener and more efficient utilization of alternate fuels.
