Suzlon posts record Q2 performance, grows order book, wins customs penalty cut

Suzlon Energy Limited announced a strong performance in Q2 FY26, delivering a record-breaking 565 megawatts, the highest ever for a Q2 in its 30-year history. The company's order book has exceeded 6 gigawatts, reinforcing market leadership with over a 2-gigawatt order win in H1 FY26. The S144 order book alone surpasses 5.6 gigawatts. Suzlon plans to achieve 6 gigawatts of wind installations by the end of FY26 and 8 gigawatts in FY27. Its manufacturing capacity of 4.5 gigawatts is fully operational, with a robust execution pipeline of 1,865 megawatts. The company is confident of achieving a 25% market share this year, having already surpassed last year's total capacity addition by October 31st, 2025.

In financial results for Q2 FY26, Suzlon reported consolidated revenue of INR3,866 crores, an EBITDA of INR721 crores (a 145% increase year-on-year), and a profit before tax of INR562 crores (a 179% year-on-year growth). Net cash position stands at INR1,480 crores, with banking limits up to INR7,000 crores. The company also recognized an incremental net deferred tax asset of INR718 crores, bringing the total DTA to INR1,229 crores as of September 2025, providing a tax shield for future profits of up to INR5,000 crores.

Concurrently, Suzlon informed stock exchanges of a significant reduction in a customs penalty. The Office of the Commissioner of Customs (NS-V) reduced the redemption fine and penalty from the earlier levied Rs.428.50 Lacs to Rs.215.86 Lacs, aggregating to Rs.2,15,83,745. The penalty was for alleged non-payment of Countervailing Duty / Anti-Dumping Duty on casting parts imported from China. The company intends to appeal the order.
