Grasim Industries sees strong revenue growth, expansion in paints and B2B e-commerce

Grasim Industries Limited reported a robust performance for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2025. Trailing 12-month consolidated revenues neared INR1,60,000 crores, an 8% increase from FY '25. Standalone revenue grew by 26% year-on-year to a record high of INR9,610 crores. The company's decorative paints business, Birla Opus, achieved a significant milestone by commencing production at its sixth and largest plant in Kharagpur, West Bengal, on October 15, 2025. This plant, with a capacity of 236 million liters per annum, brings Birla Opus's total installed capacity to 1,332 million liters per annum, making it the second-largest decorative paints company by industry capacity. The brand has expanded its distribution network to over 10,000 towns and crossed 500 branded franchise stores. Total capital expenditure for the paints business reached INR9,727 crores as of September 30, 2025.

The B2B e-commerce business, Birla Pivot, continues its strong growth trajectory, with revenues sequentially higher by 15% despite monsoon impacts. The platform has expanded its product portfolio to include polymers, solvents, textile chemicals, and non-ferrous metals, aiming to surpass its stated revenue guidance of achieving INR8,500 crores by FY '27.

In its core businesses, the cellulosic fiber segment’s revenue was up 1% year-on-year to INR4,149 crores, with specialty fiber volume mix improving to 24%. The chemicals business saw revenue at a two-year high, driven by strong performance in caustic soda, chlorine derivatives, and specialty chemicals. Specialty chemicals' revenue contribution improved to 30% from 26% in Q2 FY '25, with volume growth of 34%. UltraTech Cement, a subsidiary, continued its capacity expansion, with consolidated sales volume up 6.9% year-on-year to 33.85 million metric tons and operating EBITDA per metric ton growing by 32% to ₹966. The company’s net debt declined to INR6,861 crores as of September 30, 2025.
