JSW Steel sees strong October crude steel output despite temporary shutdown

JSW Steel reported consolidated crude steel production of 24.95 lakh tonnes for October 2025, a 9% increase compared to October 2024's 22.81 lakh tonnes. Indian operations contributed 24.12 lakh tonnes, a 10% rise from 21.99 lakh tonnes in the prior year, while JSW Steel USA – Ohio produced 0.83 lakh tonnes, up slightly from 0.82 lakh tonnes.

Indian operations achieved 83% capacity utilization, lower than optimal due to the temporary shutdown of Blast Furnace 3 (BF3) at Vijayanagar for a capacity upgrade from 3.0 MTPA to 4.5 MTPA. Excluding BF3, capacity utilization for Indian operations reached approximately 92% for October 2025.

BF3 is projected to resume production in February 2026. JSW Steel currently has a consolidated crude steel capacity of 35.7 MTPA, including 1.5 MTPA in the US, with domestic crude steel capacity at 34.2 MTPA. The company anticipates further growth to 43.4 MTPA in the next three years.
