ZF Commercial Vehicle faces INR 9.3 crore tax demand

ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems India Limited announced on November 7, 2025, that it has received a demand order from the joint commissioner, CGST and Central Excise, Jamshedpur. The order imposes a demand of INR 4,65,90,929 under Section 74(1), along with a penalty of INR 4,65,90,929 under Section 74(9), plus applicable interest under Section 50 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.

The demand covers the period from fiscal year 2018-19 to fiscal year 2022-23 and primarily relates to the availment of excess or ineligible Input Tax Credit.

ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems India Limited stated that there is no material impact of this order on its financial, operational, or other activities, as the company plans to dispute the demand. Muthulakshmi M, company secretary, signed the disclosure.
