ONGC appoints Rama K Gupta & Co. as statutory auditor for FY26

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has appointed M/s Rama K Gupta & Co. as the statutory/joint statutory auditor for the financial year 2025-26. This appointment, communicated by the comptroller & auditor general of India (C&AG) on November 6, 2025, partially modifies an earlier communication from September 10, 2025. Initially, C&AG had appointed five chartered accountants firms/limited liability partnerships, but M/s MSKA & Associates had declined the joint statutory auditor role.

M/s Rama K Gupta & Co. is a well-established chartered accountancy firm, founded in 1989 and headquartered in Bhopal. The firm operates with 25 experienced partners and has a strong pan-India presence with branch offices across multiple states, including Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh. Their expertise spans accounting, auditing, taxation, information systems (IS) audits, forensic audits, and project evaluations.

The firm has a strong track record in audit and assurance services for public sector undertakings (PSUs), banks, and government departments. Notably, they have conducted central statutory audits for major institutions such as the State Bank of India, UCO Bank, and Life Insurance Corporation of India.
