BHEL secures major NTPC power plant contract

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received a Notification of Award (NOA) from NTPC Limited for the EPC package of a 1x800 MW Darlipali Supercritical Thermal Power Project Stage-II. This domestic contract, awarded on November 6, 2025, involves extensive EPC works, including design, engineering, equipment supply, erection, commissioning, and civil works for the project in Sundargarh district, Odisha.

The project is an outcome of an International Competitive Bidding process, with the Completion of Facilities (COF) set for 48 months from the NOA date. The order is reported to be over INR 6,650 Crore, exclusive of GST. Both BHEL and NTPC Limited are Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs).
