TCS expands ABB partnership for AI-driven IT operations

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced an expanded partnership with ABB, a global leader in electrification and automation, to implement AI-driven IT operations. This multi-year collaboration aims to modernize ABB's global hosting operations, simplify its IT landscape, and strengthen its digital foundation, supporting ABB's next phase of growth. The engagement will see TCS operationalize ABB's Future Hosting Model, a next-generation modular IT infrastructure designed to streamline systems, enable predictive operations, faster service restoration, and continuous security assurance through its AI-powered Zero Ops framework.

The partnership builds on an 18-year collaboration, with TCS helping to accelerate ABB's Core Platform vision focused on modernization at scale, greater self-service, automation, cloud migration, agility, orchestration, and resilience. ABB Group cio, Alec Joannou, highlighted that the extended partnership will create a foundation for agility, faster innovation, and improved reliability. TCS's Anupam Singhal emphasized that the engagement is a bold step towards reimagining ABB's hosting landscape with a modular, future-ready architecture, aiming to unlock unprecedented levels of efficiency, autonomy, and innovation for ABB’s global business.

TCS’s operational and industry expertise, combined with ABB’s platforms, will create a resilient, efficient, and future-ready foundation. TCS’s managed services platform architecture will also enable flexibility for ABB’s business integration needs across mergers, acquisitions, and carve-outs. Through a cloud-first approach and data-driven governance, TCS will also help ABB reduce its carbon footprint. TCS reported consolidated revenues of over $30 bn for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2025.
