3M India settles FY 2008-09 tax dispute, to receive refund

3M India Limited has settled its tax arrears for the financial year 2008-09 under the Direct Tax Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme, 2024. The company received the final order in Form 4 from the principal commissioner of income tax, Bengaluru – 2, dated November 4, 2025, confirming the full and final settlement.

As a result of this settlement, a refund of Rs 2.28 Crs is due to 3M India for FY 2008-09. This resolution follows the company's decision to opt into the Scheme to address various open tax litigations spanning the period from FY 2004-05 to FY 2013-14.

The company confirmed that the principal commissioner of income tax had previously accepted its application for FY 2008-09 and issued a Certificate in Form 2. 3M India stated that this settlement has no material impact on its operations or activities.
