Thomas Cook India, SOTC Travel launch expanded China holiday packages

Thomas Cook (India) Limited and SOTC Travel have relaunched China as a key holiday destination for Indian travelers, citing strengthened diplomatic relations, restored direct flight connectivity, and a relaxed visa approval process. The initiative is supported by internal data showing strong consumer interest, with departures selling out in advance, even during traditionally low seasons. The enhanced portfolio targets a wide range of customers, including multi-generational families, Gen Z and millennials, working professionals, and solo travelers.

The expanded China portfolio blends popular attractions with new destinations like Chongqing, Chengdu, and Zhangjiajie, alongside favorites such as Shanghai, Beijing, and Xi'an. Unique experiences include rides on the Shanghai Maglev, immersive storytelling at Chongqing 1949's 360° rotating theatre, and drone shows at the Yangtze River waterfront. Group tours will feature high-speed trains, porter services, and pre-planned menus blending Indian and Chinese cuisine.

Beyond leisure, China's advanced infrastructure and increasing trade events are driving strong potential in business travel and MICE. Cities like Shanghai, Beijing, and Chengdu are emerging as key hubs, leading to increased corporate interest in business trips, meetings, incentive programs, and conferences, with companies witnessing heightened interest in "Bleisure" travel to China.
