Hind Rectifiers begins commercial production of new copper conductors

Hind Rectifiers Limited (HIRECT) announced on November 3, 2025, the commencement of commercial production of highly specialized copper conductors at its Sinnar plant. This backward integration project focuses on the in-house manufacturing of continuously transposed conductors (CTC), enamelled paper insulated copper conductor (EPICC), and paper insulated copper conductor (PICC), which are critical raw materials for traction transformers.

The project, with a capital expenditure of ~INR 56 crore, was funded by a mix of term loans and internal accruals. It is expected to enhance operational efficiency, streamline the supply chain, and reduce dependence on external vendors. Suramya Nevatia, chairman & managing director, highlighted that this new vertical creates export potential and positions the company to meet the growing demand from the transformer industry, improving profitability and revenue.

This development follows an intimation dated September 30, 2025, regarding the expansion. The company, established in 1958, is a major player in engineering and manufacturing, specializing in power electronics systems and electrical equipment, serving sectors like railways and defence.
