Gujarat Gas names Manoj Kumar Das new chairman

Gujarat Gas Limited announced the appointment of Shri Manoj Kumar Das, IAS, as an additional director and chairman of its board, effective November 2, 2025. This appointment was approved by the board of directors and resulted from a letter from the Energy & Petrochemicals Department, Government of Gujarat.

Shri Das, a 1990 batch IAS officer, brings extensive experience to the role. He holds a B.Tech (Computer Science) from IIT-Kharagpur and has specialized in revenue administration, urban management, law and order, and disaster management. His previous roles include additional chief secretary to the chief minister, Gujarat, and various positions across government departments, including district development officer, district collector, and municipal commissioner in several cities.

Shri Das is currently the chief secretary, Government of Gujarat, and has served as a director on the boards of various Government of Gujarat entities. The company confirmed that he is not debarred from holding a directorship by any SEBI order. He is designated as a promoter-nominee, and there are no familial relationships between him and the existing directors of Gujarat Gas Limited.
