Great Eastern Shipping adds ultramax dry bulk carrier, sells two tankers

The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited has contracted to purchase a 2019 Japanese-built ultramax dry bulk carrier with a capacity of approximately 63,500 dwt. This vessel is anticipated to join the company's fleet by Q4 FY26 and will be financed entirely through internal accruals.

Currently, Great Eastern Shipping's owned fleet comprises 41 vessels, including 27 tankers (6 crude carriers, 17 product tankers, 4 LPG carriers) and 14 dry bulk carriers, totaling 3.37 mn dwt. The company reports a near 100% capacity utilization.

In addition to this acquisition, the company has also entered into agreements to sell one suezmax crude tanker and one medium range product tanker, with these transactions expected to conclude in Q3 FY26.
