HUDCO, IIM Calcutta partner for urban development training

Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIMC) on October 28, 2025. This non-binding agreement aims to foster technical collaboration through exchanges and joint activities in training, education, research, and capacity building. The partnership will focus on shared fields of interest and expertise, including offering certificate courses, consultancy, and fee-based projects and services.

The MoU was formally signed by m. nagaraj, director (corporate planning) of HUDCO, and professor alok kumar rai, director of IIMC. The collaboration is set to establish broad guidelines for future operational agreements between the two entities, specifically targeting social housing and infrastructure development.

The agreement has a term of three years from the signing date, with an annual review for potential modifications or amendments. Specific activities proposed for the 2025-26 period include instituting short-duration programs and long-term certificate courses on themes such as urban management, municipal finance, bankable projects, contract management, urban infrastructure development, and urban environmental management.
