Bank of India appoints Prabodh Parikh as shareholder director

Bank of India has announced the unopposed election of Prabodh Parikh as a shareholder director for a three-year term, from November 29, 2025, to November 28, 2028. The appointment follows an intimation dated October 6, 2025, and a notice dated October 10, 2025, convening an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) for the election. Parikh was found to be a valid nominee and "fit and proper" by the nomination and remuneration committee.

Parikh, aged 62, holds an M.Com, MBA, and is a certified associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). He brings 37 years of extensive banking experience, having joined State Bank of India (SBI) in 1985 and retiring as deputy managing director in 2023. His expertise lies particularly in infrastructure and project financing. He previously served as a director nominated by SBI on the boards of Oman India Joint Investment Fund entities and SBI Infra Management Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Additionally, he was deputed to NaBFID as an executive vice president, overseeing the establishment of infrastructure and business development.

Given that Parikh was the sole candidate to consent to his nomination for the vacancy, as per Regulation 66 of the Bank of India (Shares and Meetings) Regulations, 2007, the requirement for an election by voting at the EGM is not triggered. Consequently, the agenda item relating to the election of shareholder director will not be transacted at the EGM scheduled for Friday, November 7, 2025, though the EGM will proceed to address other business outlined in the October 10, 2025 notice. The bank confirmed that Parikh is not debarred from holding the office and is not related to any directors or key managerial personnel.
