JK Cement commissions new grinding facility, boosts capacity to 26.26 MnTPA

JK Cement Ltd. announced the commissioning of a 1.00 MnTPA cement grinding facility at its Prayagraj Works, effective today. This new unit increases the installed capacity of JK Cement Works, Prayagraj, from 2.00 MnTPA to 3.00 MnTPA. The company's overall grey cement production capacity now stands at 26.26 MnTPA, including the capacity of its subsidiary.

This commissioning is part of a broader expansion plan approved by the Board of Directors on January 20, 2024, to increase capacity by 6 MnTPA. The approved expansion comprises a 3.3 MnTPA brownfield clinker capacity expansion and a 3 MnTPA cement grinding capacity across Panna, Hamirpur, and Prayagraj (1 MnTPA each).

Additionally, the plan includes a 3 MnTPA greenfield cement grinding capacity in Bihar. These remaining expansions are slated for commissioning in phases over 24 months from the start of work at the respective sites.
