Akzo Nobel India faces tax scrutiny from GST department

Akzo Nobel India Limited announced on October 23, 2025, that it has received a Show Cause Notice from the West Bengal GST Department. The notice, dated September 24, 2025, relates to an alleged disallowance of Input Tax Credit for the period of April 2021 to March 2022.

The notice cites a total liability of INR 62,75,220, comprising INR 36,53,855 in tax, INR 22,55,980 in interest, and INR 3,65,385 in penalties. The company, via its Company Secretary & Compliance Officer Rajiv L Jha, confirmed that Akzo Nobel India is preparing to submit its response to the relevant authorities within the stipulated timelines.

The communication was made in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, and the SEBI Circular dated July 13, 2023, concerning the disclosure of litigation or disputes that may affect a listed entity.
