Alivus Life Sciences faces environmental fine, bank guarantee after plant incident

Alivus Life Sciences Limited, formerly Glenmark Life Sciences Limited, announced that it has received a notice from The Gujarat Pollution Control Board ("GPCB"). The GPCB has imposed an interim Environment Damage Compensation of INR 50 lakhs and ordered an immediate deposit of INR 29 lakhs. Additionally, the company is required to submit a bank guarantee of INR 10,00,000 for compliance assurance.

The order stems from a flash fire incident that occurred at the company's Ankleshwar Plant (Unit No. 6) on September 30, 2025. Alivus Life Sciences received the direction on October 18, 2025.

The company stated that there is no material impact on its financial, operational, or other activities due to the incident or the penalty payable. Alivus Life Sciences confirmed that this order is currently appealable, and the company plans to assess its options to exercise the right to appeal.
