Jagran Prakashan faces legal challenge over alleged mismanagement

Jagran Prakashan Limited (JPL) announced on October 18, 2025, that it is involved in a legal case, C.P. No. 57 of 2025, titled “Shailendra Mohan Gupta and Ors. v. Jagran Media Network Investment Private Limited and Ors.” The petition, alleging oppression and mismanagement, was heard by the NCLT, Allahabad, on October 17, 2025.

Jagran Media Network Investment Private Limited, JPL’s holding company, and JPL itself are named as Respondent No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Other members of the promoter and promoter group (Gupta Family members) are listed as Respondents No. 3-19, and the Registrar of Companies, Kanpur, is named as Respondent No. 20.

The NCLT has directed the issuance of notice for C.P. No. 57 of 2025 and has tagged it with C.P. No. 64 of 2023. Respondents are required to file replies within two weeks. Both matters are scheduled for further hearing on November 3, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.
