Rail Vikas Nigam wins South Central Railway upgrade contract

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has emerged as the lowest bidder for a significant project awarded by South Central Railway. The contract involves the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning for the upgrade of an existing 1X25kV system to a 2X25kV AT feeding system, including feeder and earthing works, in the Ramgundam (RDM) – Kazipet (KZJ) section of Secunderabad Division. The project encompasses a total of 92 RKM/ 276 TKM.

The total cost of the work is stated as Rs 1,444,451,878.04, inclusive of applicable taxes. The project is expected to be completed within an 18-month timeframe from the date of the order.

This domestic contract was awarded through a reverse auction process. RVNL confirmed that the order does not involve any promoter or related party interests and is conducted at "arm's length."
