Paradeep Phosphates completes merger with MCFL, boosts production capacity

Paradeep Phosphates Limited (PPL) announced on October 17, 2025, the completion of its merger with Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited (MCFL), effective October 16, 2025. This strategic integration positions PPL as one of the largest private sector fertilizer producers, consolidating its national presence and enhancing market reach. The merger increases PPL's total fertilizer production capacity by over 23%, from 3.0 million metric tonnes to 3.7 million metric tonnes per annum.

The combined entity will benefit from a broader product portfolio and a more efficient supply chain, strengthening PPL's presence across southern India while complementing its established markets in the north, west, central, and eastern regions. This expansion is expected to lead to economies of scale in production and logistics, ultimately reducing costs and improving service quality for farmers nationwide.

PPL, founded in 1981, operates manufacturing units in Paradeep, Odisha, and Zuarinagar, Goa, producing a wide range of fertilizers. The company achieved an ESG score of 75 in S&P's Corporate Sustainability Assessment 2024, placing it in the top 98th percentile globally in the chemicals sector.
