Embraer and Mahindra partner on C-390 Millennium for Indian Air Force

On October 17, 2025, Embraer Defense & Security and Mahindra Group signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement to advance the C-390 Millennium solution for the Indian Air Force (IAF). This agreement expands cooperation to include joint marketing, industrialization, and establishing India as a hub for the C-390 Millennium.

The partnership aims to leverage India's aerospace ecosystem for local manufacturing, assembly facilities, supply chain, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities. The long-term vision is to position India as a manufacturing and support hub for the C-390 Millennium, catering to both domestic and regional demands. The C-390 Millennium aircraft can carry over 26 tons and flies faster and farther than other medium-sized military transport aircraft, demonstrating a mission completion rate exceeding 99%.

This strategic alliance is expected to strengthen India-Brazil ties and supports India's "Atmanirbhar Bharat" vision by fostering self-reliance in military transport solutions. The C-390 Millennium has already been selected by air forces in multiple countries, including Brazil, Portugal, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, South Korea, Czech Republic, Sweden, Slovakia, and Lithuania.
