Adani, Google partner on India’s largest AI data center campus

Adani Enterprises, through its joint venture AdaniConneX, and Google announced a landmark partnership on October 14, 2025, to develop India's largest AI data center campus and new green energy infrastructure in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This collaboration aims to power India's AI-driven future and will include purpose-built AI data center infrastructure, adding significant compute capacity.

Google's AI hub in Visakhapatnam represents a multi-faceted investment of approximately $15 bn over five years (2026-2030). This investment encompasses gigawatt-scale data center operations, supported by a robust subsea cable network, and clean energy to handle demanding AI workloads in India. The project also emphasizes sustainability, with co-investment in new transmission lines, clean energy generation, and innovative energy storage systems in Andhra Pradesh, supporting the data center and enhancing India's electricity grid.

The Adani Group, through chairman Gautam Adani, highlighted the project's role in defining India's digital landscape and nation-building. Thomas Kurian, chief executive of Google Cloud, stated that the Google AI hub would provide the critical foundation for growth, enabling businesses, researchers, and creators to build and scale with AI. This development is expected to foster economic growth in Visakhapatnam and create tens of thousands of jobs in technology, construction, and clean energy.
