Oil India completes key pipeline upgrade, boosts capacity

Oil India Limited (OIL) announced the mechanical completion of the Numaligarh-Siliguri Product Pipeline (NSPL) on October 12, 2025. This flagship infrastructure project aims to enhance India's energy security. The upgrade increases the pipeline's transportation capacity from 1.77 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) to 5.5 MMTPA.

This expansion strengthens OIL's midstream infrastructure, enabling it to handle increased product flows from the Numaligarh Refinery. The completion is a critical milestone that complements the ongoing Numaligarh Refinery Expansion Project by Numaligarh Refinery Ltd. (NRL), which will boost its capacity from 3.0 MMTPA to 9.0 MMTPA.

This achievement underscores OIL's commitment to improving energy infrastructure in the Northeastern region, contributing to the nation's growing demand for petroleum products. The announcement was made via a press release on October 13, 2025.
