Castrol India announces MD resignation, appoints interim CEO

Castrol India Limited announced the resignation of Kedar Lele as managing director, effective at the end of business hours on December 31, 2025. Lele is departing to pursue other opportunities.

Concurrently, the board of directors appointed Saugata Basuray as interim chief executive officer, effective January 1, 2026. Basuray will hold this position until a new managing director is appointed. He will also be re-designated as 'wholetime director & interim CEO', in addition to his current role as wholetime director & head B2C sales.

Basuray brings over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, and business leadership within Castrol India Limited, having joined as a management trainee in 1999. His career includes impactful roles across India and internationally in four countries. The board meeting which approved these changes concluded on October 10, 2025.
