Shyam Metalics sees mixed sales in Q2, strong gains in some segments

Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited (SMEL) reported a 20.77% increase in CR Coil/CR Sheets sales volumes on a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis in Q2 FY26, reaching 38,168 MT, with average realisations up 1.22% QoQ to Rs. 73,580/MT. Aluminium Foil sales volumes saw a 3.05% decrease QoQ, totaling 5,274 MT, while average realisations increased by 6.18% QoQ to Rs. 3,88,570/MT.

For Speciality Alloys, Q2 FY26 volumes decreased by 4.32% QoQ to 54,133 MT, but realisations improved by 8.59% QoQ to Rs. 95,253/MT. Stainless Steel volumes surged by 24.77% QoQ to 24,720 MT, though realisations declined by 5.41% QoQ to Rs. 1,31,029/MT. Pellet sales decreased by 1.39% QoQ in volume, reaching 3,07,816 MT, with realisations up 5.47% QoQ to Rs. 9,079/MT.

Carbon Steel sales volumes increased by 4.74% QoQ to 4,26,063 MT, while realisations decreased by 7.46% QoQ to Rs. 41,510/MT. Sponge Iron volumes decreased by 27.66% QoQ to 1,85,873 MT, and realisations were down 2.93% QoQ to Rs. 23,394/MT. Pig Iron volumes saw a significant 50.95% QoQ increase to 1,83,735 MT, despite a 3.88% QoQ drop in realisations to Rs. 32,451/MT.
