Bajaj Auto to appeal tax credit order, says no major financial impact

Bajaj Auto Limited announced it received an order from the Joint Commissioner, CGST & CX, Guwahati, regarding an alleged excess input tax credit. The order, issued under section 73(9) of the CGST Act, 2017, and Assam GST Act, 2017, was received on October 6, 2025.

The violation pertains to an alleged excess input tax credit of INR 3,51,87,014 availed in GSTR-3B compared to GSTR-2A for the fiscal year 2021-22, along with an additional demand for interest and a penalty of INR 35,18,701.

Bajaj Auto stated that it availed the input tax credit after fulfilling all conditions under GST law and will be filing an appeal against the order based on the merits of the case. The company also confirmed that this order does not have any major financial implications.
