Cosmo First faces appeal over dropped GST demand

Cosmo First Limited announced on October 4, 2025, that the commissioner, Central GST & Central Excise (Appeals), Vadodara-I, has filed an appeal. This appeal challenges an order by the additional commissioner (GST), dated March 10, 2025, which had dropped a demand of INR 12.14 crore from a total of INR 14.86 crore. This litigation stems from a Show Cause Notice received on February 2, 2023, concerning erroneously refunded IGST.

The dispute originated from a demand for INR 14.86 crore, including interest and penalty. While the Adjudicating Authority partially dropped the demand to INR 12.14 crore, the department is now challenging this reduction. Cosmo First had previously filed an appeal against the Adjudicating Authority’s order, which remains pending.

The company stated that it is taking appropriate measures and does not foresee any material impact on its financial, operational, or other activities due to this ongoing litigation.
