Muthoot Finance appoints K.V. Eapen as independent director

Muthoot Finance Limited announced the appointment of Koodathumuriyil Verghese Eapen as a non-executive independent director, effective October 1, 2025. The appointment, approved by shareholders on August 30, 2025, is for a term of three consecutive years.

Eapen is a retired civil servant from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), bringing 35 years of experience in various government ministries and departments. His career includes roles as joint secretary (banking) in the department of financial services and secretary to the government of India in the ministry of personnel, PG and pensions, and department of administrative reforms and public grievances. He also served as secretary, ministry of statistics and programme implementation, and as director in the department of commerce.

Additionally, Eapen held positions in the states of Assam and Meghalaya as finance secretary and planning secretary, and as chairman of the Assam State Electricity Board. Muthoot Finance confirmed that no directors of the company are related to Eapen, and he is not debarred from holding the office of director by any SEBI order.
