John Cockerill India secures major cold rolling mill contract from Godawari Power & Ispat

John Cockerill India Limited (JCIL) has secured a contract from Godawari Power & Ispat Limited (GPIL) for the engineering, design, manufacture, and supply of a 6 Hi Reversible Cold Rolling Mill (CRM) at Tilda, Raipur. The contract also includes supervision of erection and commissioning, ensuring full contractual performance guarantees.

The new CRM will have an annual capacity of 300,000 tonnes, capable of processing strip widths up to 1,500 mm and producing output thicknesses from 2.0 mm down to 0.15 mm at speeds up to 1,400 mpm. This state-of-the-art mill will be equipped with the latest rolling technology and an advanced mill management system to ensure superior strip quality at optimized operating costs.

This project is part of GPIL’s ambitious expansion strategy to establish a 2 MTPA greenfield integrated steel plant. The contract solidifies JCIL's position as a trusted partner in the Indian steel industry, leveraging its four decades of expertise and track record of delivering over 100 customized cold rolling mills worldwide.
