Indian Hotels disputes BMC property tax penalty for Vile Parle land

The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has reported a penalty of INR 34,04,848 on outstanding property taxes for the year 2025-26, concerning a plot of land at Vile Parle. This penalty was reflected in the property tax bill and a special notice received from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on September 30, 2025.

IHCL asserts that property taxes have been paid in accordance with Supreme Court and High Court orders, and it is disputing the penalty on its merits. The company emphasizes that while the financial impact, if any, will be limited to the disclosed penalty amount, there will be no impact on its operations or other business activities.

This disclosure was made to the BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
