HDFC bank group head resigns due to personal reasons

HDFC Bank Limited announced the resignation of rahul shyam shukla, a senior management personnel and group head, effective October 1, 2025. The bank confirmed the acceptance of his resignation, which he tendered due to personal reasons following a sabbatical.

Shukla's resignation letter highlights his significant contributions to the bank over seven years. He expanded its SME footprint to 730 districts and achieved village penetration in over 225,000 villages. Under his leadership, the bank reached the #1 position in SME lending and top 3 in agricultural finance. He noted that businesses led by him contributed approximately 30% of the bank's advances as of March 31.
