Escorts Kubota reports strong September tractor sales, construction equipment declines

Escorts Kubota Limited's Agri Machinery Business recorded its highest-ever monthly sales in September 2025, with 18,267 tractors sold. This marks a significant 47.6% growth compared to 12,380 tractors sold in September 2024. Domestic tractor sales surged 48.5% to 17,803 units, with export sales increasing 17.5% to 464 units during the same period.

The company attributes this growth to favorable rural conditions, above-normal monsoon rains, improved water reservoir levels, an early festive season, and a recent GST rate cut on tractors and farm machinery. The overall industry outlook remains positive, with expectations of stronger demand through the end of the year.

Conversely, the Construction Equipment Business Division sold 413 machines in September 2025, down 19.0% from 510 machines in September 2024. The sector faced challenges from monsoon disruptions, project delays, and rising costs, though early signs of recovery are noted with government infrastructure push.
