REC incorporates two new subsidiary companies for power transmission projects

REC Limited, through its wholly-owned subsidiary REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), has incorporated two new wholly-owned subsidiary companies: Kempegowda Power Transmission Limited and Barmer HVDC Power Transmission Limited. Both entities were established on September 30, 2025, and are classified as related parties of REC Limited. They will operate within the power sector, focusing on transmission projects.

Kempegowda Power Transmission Limited has been incorporated for a 400 kV project in Bengaluru Urban, with an authorized and paid-up capital of ₹5,00,000 each. Similarly, Barmer HVDC Power Transmission Limited has been established for a transmission system in Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part-5:6 GW) for solar power evacuation, also with an authorized and paid-up capital of ₹5,00,000 each.

Both new subsidiaries will eventually be transferred to successful bidders following a Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process, as RECPDCL acts as the bid process coordinator for these projects. Neither company has commenced business and therefore has no turnover to report at this time.
