Diamond Power starts second aluminium rod mill, boosting capacity

Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited (DPIL) announced the commencement of commercial production at its second fully-integrated Aluminium Rod Mill within its wholly-owned subsidiary, DICABS NextGen Special Alloys Private Limited, in Vadodara. This new mill has an installed production capacity of 2,500 MT per month, equating to 30,000 MT per annum, and is dedicated to producing Next Generation AL 59 Wire Rods for power transmission.

The operationalization of this second greenfield rod mill increases DPIL's total installed capacity for Wire Rods to 73,200 MT per annum. This expansion includes the company's own rod mill (1,200 MT per month), the first DICABS NextGen rod mill (2,400 MT per month), and the newly operational second DICABS NextGen rod mill (2,500 MT per month). Only one rod mill remains to be commissioned.

The expansion, detailed as an investment of Rs. 20 crores financed through internal accruals, aims to enhance the company's conductor production capabilities and revenue. This strategic move supports the growing needs of power utilities for corridor strengthening, renewable energy integration, and urban distribution upgrades.
