Asheesh Pandey named Union Bank of India MD and CEO

The Central Government has appointed Asheesh Pandey as the managing director and chief executive officer of Union Bank of India, effective September 30, 2025. This appointment is for a period of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Prior to this role, Pandey served as an executive director at Bank of Maharashtra and chief general manager at Union Bank of India.

With over 27 years of banking experience, Pandey is a mechanical engineer with post-graduation in management specializing in finance and marketing, and an alumnus of IIM Bangalore. His expertise spans credit, treasury, foreign transactions, and digital banking transformation, having played a key role in the amalgamation of e-Andhra Bank and e-Corporation Bank with Union Bank of India. He is also a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers.

Pandey has no relationship with any existing directors of the bank and is not debarred from holding his new office by SEBI or any other authority.
