Airtel Business launches centimeter-level precision location service in India

Bharti Airtel's enterprise division, Airtel Business, announced a strategic partnership with Swift Navigation to launch the Airtel-Skylark™ Precise Positioning Service in India. This new service, delivering centimeter-level location accuracy, is expected to improve positioning by up to 100 times compared to standard Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). The initiative aims to support mission-critical, location-based applications for large-scale deployment across India, leveraging Airtel's pan-India 4G/5G network.

The service will initially roll out a 35,000 km² network around the National Capital Region (NCR) later this year, with plans for phased expansion to other parts of the country. This technology is poised to revolutionize industries such as automotive and transportation (ADAS and autonomous vehicles), smart tolling, logistics, railways, and agriculture by enabling highly accurate real-time location data.

This partnership positions Airtel Business as a leader in India's precise-positioning market, with the new service set to be showcased at the India Mobile Congress from October 8–11, 2025.
