Jindal Steel recognized as India's first diversified awarding body by NCVET

Jindal Steel Limited announced on September 27, 2025, that it has been recognized as an Awarding Body by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). This makes Jindal Steel the first diversified large Indian enterprise and the first integrated steel manufacturer to receive such recognition. The agreement grants the company PAN-India jurisdiction as an Awarding Body in the Large Indian Enterprise/MNC category.

This recognition empowers Jindal Steel to design and implement industry-aligned skilling programs, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and National Credit Framework. These programs will focus on decarbonization, circular economy, and advanced technologies, with all training standards and qualifications being recognized for credit.

Jindal Steel operates on a mine-to-metal model, with an investment footprint exceeding $12 bn. The company maintains state-of-the-art facilities in Angul, Raigarh, and Patratu, and strategic operations across India and Africa, supplying steel solutions to core sectors like infrastructure, construction, and manufacturing.
