SBICAP Trustee significantly increases pledged stake in Adani Power

SBICAP Trustee Company Limited (STCL) announced an increase in its encumbered holding of Adani Power Limited shares, acting as a security trustee. Prior to the recent acquisition, STCL held 52.3 million pledged shares, representing 1.36% of the total diluted share/voting capital. The company then acquired an additional 209.2 million encumbered shares on September 22, 2025.

This acquisition brings STCL's total encumbered holding in Adani Power to 261.5 million shares, equivalent to 6.78% of the total diluted share/voting capital. The shares were pledged following a stock split from a face value of INR 10 to INR 2 on the same date.

The disclosure specifies that STCL's role is to hold security for the benefit of debenture holders or lenders. Enforcement of security would occur only in the event of default by the borrower or Issuer Company, as per instructions from the lenders. The total equity share capital of Adani Power stands at 3,856.9 million shares, each valued at INR 2.
