REC subsidiary incorporates new power transmission company

REC Limited today announced the incorporation of Bellary Davanagere Power Transmission Limited on September 25, 2025. This new entity is a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), which is itself a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Limited. The incorporation follows a Ministry of Power Gazette Notification dated August 19, 2025, which allocated an inter-state transmission project where RECPDCL was appointed as the bid process coordinator (BPC).

Bellary Davanagere Power Transmission Limited has an authorized and paid-up capital of ₹500,000 respectively. It will focus on strengthening the transmission system for the integration of additional renewable energy potential at Davanagere (0.25 GW) and Bellary (2.75 GW). As a newly incorporated company, it currently has no turnover and is yet to commence business operations.

RECPDCL will select a transmission service provider through a tariff-based competitive bidding process, after which Bellary Davanagere Power Transmission Limited will be transferred to the successful bidder along with all assets and liabilities. The acquisition represents a 100% subscription to the equity share capital in cash at face value, making the new entity a related party of REC Limited.
