Jupiter Electric Mobility expands clean energy with battery storage systems

Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM) has unveiled 10 ft and 20 ft containerized Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), designed with capacities from 241 kWh to 3 MWh. These air-cooled, modular systems are manufactured in-house at JEM’s Indore and Bangalore facilities. They target applications such as diesel generator replacement, solar storage, energy shifting, and backup power for commercial and industrial segments. The first 10 ft BESS unit will be supplied in partnership with GMMCO to Greenlit, a subsidiary of Recube.

JEM plans to scale its Indore plant’s capacity from 1 GWh to 5 GWh annually within the next three years. The company will also export its first 20 ft BESS unit to Africa in October, marking its entry into global markets, and intends to launch liquid-cooled BESS systems for grid-scale usage soon. These initiatives align with India’s Net Zero 2070 vision by facilitating renewable integration and reducing carbon intensity.

Mr. Vivek Lohia, managing director of Jupiter Group, highlighted the in-house design and manufacturing strength, emphasizing that these systems are built to stringent IEC standards. JEM’s BESS portfolio aims to address India's evolving energy needs by providing reliable and scalable energy storage solutions, supporting a transition to round-the-clock clean energy and reducing carbon footprints.
