Hindustan Unilever seeks government nod for new managing director

Hindustan Unilever Limited has disclosed its plan to seek Central Government approval for the appointment of Priya Nair as the company's managing director and chief executive officer. This move is pursuant to Section 196 read with Schedule V and other applicable provisions of the Companies Act, 2013.

The proposed appointment is for a five-year term, commencing on August 1, 2025, and concluding on July 31, 2030. Nair was a non-resident in India for the twelve months prior to the effective date of her appointment. The appointment is subject to approval from both shareholders and the Central Government.
